The two elementary schools were located at Livermore and Ottosen with the high school located at Bode, all under Superintendent Alvin Leuthauser.

In 1957 She married John Berte and they moved to the farm at Kanawha in 1958, where they farmed for ten years.  In 1968 the Berte’s moved to back to Livermore, John started working construction and they raised their seven children.

In 2000 Berte & Son LTD. Construction expanded and moved their construction business operation to Humboldt, Iowa by building a new building in the newly developed industrial park.
