Mrs. Maxine Coleman will be Parade Grand Marshal

Team Livermore has chosen longtime Livermore area resident Mrs. Maxine Coleman who turned 90 last March, to serve as grand marshal for this year's parade.  Maxine will be driven through the parade by her son Dean and will be riding in his convertible.  Maxine married David Coleman September 24, 1954 where they farmed and made their home north of Livermore. In 1956 grandad Coleman helped David plant three-hundred apple trees and created their apple orchard north of Livermore which they operated until the mid-1980’s.  David passed away May 2, 2002 and Maxine still continues to live on the farm.  The couple have five children: Christine (Mike) Ryerson of West Des Moines, Dean (Carol) Coleman of Humboldt, Dale (Marlene) Coleman of Livermore, Dan Coleman of Storm Lake and Janice (Scott) Dickerson of Atlantic, Iowa.  Maxine is a member of the Livermore Immanuel Lutheran Church and is always very involved with the church Ladies Aide and the church quilters group.
