Friday Night July 15, 2005
Live band Street dance 50's & 60's featuring
9:00 pm to 1:00 am
BB & the Bullfrogs

Left to right: Tyler Pedersen, Mike Woizeschke, and Brent Brekke

We have been playing together for the past three years. We are all graduates of Spirit Lake High School, where we were all actively involved in music. We are all currently enrolled at SDSU in Brookings, SD, where we all continue to participate in numerous musical ensembles. As a band we have numerous and varied playing experiences including performing at venues such as The Roof Garden and the Arnold’s Park Green Space. We have a full plate for 2005, which will be taking us from Watertown and Sioux Falls, SD, to Remsen Iowa with many places in-between. Our versatility as a band allows us to cater to a very wide audience, and adds to the enjoyment everywhere we go. We don't plan on slowing down any time soon, so if it's good old Rock N Roll you're looking for just look us up.

Two members of Dee Jay & The Runaways
John D Senn and Gary Lind
Will sit in with the BB & the Bullfrogs

When you think of Iowa 60's Rock and Roll, the name of Dee Jay & The Runaways is a constant with that process. This Spirit Lake, Iowa based group is responsible for putting Iowa on the mid 60's rock and roll map with their hit recording of "peter Rabbit".  It charted on Billboard's Top 40 in 1965 and remained on the national charts for fourteen weeks in late 1965 and early 1966. All told the record about that famous little rabbit sold over 400,000 copies and charted number #1 in Baltimore, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, & Seattle.

Saturday Night July 16, 2005

Iowa Rock-N-Roll Association
Hall of Fame 1997 Inductee
The Escorts / The Do's & The Don'ts

The original members: (l to r)
Dick Burns, Dick Sherman, Roger Booth, Zelda Sherman

The current members:
Frank Glaser, Rick Sherman, Roger Booth, Dick Sherman, Zelda Sherman

The Escorts, Eastern Iowa's Representative into IRRHOF in 1997,
included Dick and Zelda Sherman, (Bass guitar and keyboards respectively), roger Booth ( drums) and Dick Burns (lead guitar), started in 1959.   They were one of the first full time rock groups to form in Eastern Iowa and the first one in the state to feature a female keyboard player in what was mostly an all male business.
The Escorts are probably the only group in the HOF's opening class that can lay claim to having their first official date as playing in the store window for the grand opening of a Montgomery Wards store.   They didn't stay long in the Ward's window as the Escorts quickly became Eastern Iowa's number 1 touring, and recording rock attraction.  In 1966 they were signed to New York's Red Bird Records and quickly came out with "I wonder" which entered Billboards National charts in July of 1966. It was with the release of this disc that the group had a name change to the Do's and Don'ts at the urging of the record company.  Over the years they won many awards including in 1965 & 1966 Iowa's Best Dressed Band and appeared with such groups as Sam  the Sham, The Four Seasons, Tommy James & the Shondells, The  Everly Brothers, Dickie Lee, and Gary Lewis & The Playboys.  In all The Escorts/Do's & Don'ts released eleven records during their career, the most by any Iowa rock group during the 50's to 70's. The group still performs , Dick Burns passed away in 1984.

On the main stage, all day through the 5th annual car show 50's 60's music will be happening from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm. In the Barney's lounge, music will happen from 10:30 am - 8:00 pm.Wristbands will be needed to purchase alcohol. There are nice hotels in Humboldt and Algona, Iowa. - The Hotels are listed below.
