Livermore Quasquicentennial Pictorial Cancellation Stamp

A Contest was held for Designing and Obtaining A U.S. Pictorial Cancellation for Livermore.   Coco Brown and Linda Fouarge of Livermore submitted the winning design.  They will receive a free roll of 100 $0.37 Stamps from the City of Livermore.  Persons attending Livermore DAZE on Saturday July 16th 2005 may obtain the cancellation in person at the temporary post office station on Livermore Main Street that our Local Postmaster Kelly Bleuer will have set up from 8:00 am till 2:00 pm on Saturday July 16th 2005. Those who cannot attend may submit a mail order request. All requests for U.S. pictorial cancel for Livermore will be available only starting on  Saturday July 16th 2005.  Requests must be postmarked no later than 30 days following the July 16th cancellation date. All requests must include a stamped envelope or postcard with first-class postage. You cannot use postage items issued after the day of the event. The U.S. Postal Service recommends inserting a card of postcard thickness in envelopes for sturdiness.

Place the envelope or postcard in a larger envelope and address it to:

After applying the pictorial cancellation, the U.S. Postal Service returns the envelope or postal cards through the mail. Customers who want their serviced items returned under protected cover must include a larger, stamped self-addressed envelope.
